Designed with Fully Spun - Phlegethon and Icescape Shawls

recommended pattern

The Phlegethon and Icescape Shawls and their respective colorways, Fire Dreamer and Ice Dreamer, were designed as part of a collaboration with Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits for her Dreamer issue of her Fiber Muse quarterly magazine. These were the second and third patterns released using Fully Spun yarn, and are simple enough to allow the yarn to shine, but have fun edge details that show off your knitting skills.

The Phlegethon Shawl is a triangular shawl that is primarily garter stitch with a lace edging. One side of the lace is created while you knit the body of the shawl, and the other side is knit at the end. Both shawls were designed using 100g of Fingering Weight yarn, but would be easy to make larger if you prefer.

The Icescape Shawl is a crescent shaped shawl that also starts with a garter stitch construction. The lace edging for this shawl is added at the end, but knit perpendicular to the edge of the shawl.

Want to create these shawls? They would look great in any of our currently available marled colorways, but the dreamiest colorway we have available is Cosmic. Cosmic was inspired by cosmic horror like The City We Became by NK Jemisin. It also has a touch of 90s throwback energy! It is available in the shop now!
